Measuring Your Feet

How to Measure Your Feet

Every tap shoe brand has its own unique fit and sizing system. By providing accurate measurements, our fitting specialists can recommend the best size and width for your selected brand, helping ensure the best possible fit the first time.

What You’ll Need

An 8.5 × 11 sheet of paper (or larger)

A pen or pencil

A straight edge ruler marked in centimetres

A flexible measuring tape marked in centimetres

A friend or family member to help

Before You Begin

Measure your feet barefoot at the end of the day when they are at their largest.

Stand with your weight evenly distributed and lean slightly forward so your feet spread naturally.

Measure both feet, as one foot is often slightly larger than the other.

Step 1 – Trace Both Feet

Stand on the paper while your helper traces around each foot. Keep the pen against the side of your foot and angle it slightly inward while tracing. This helps create a more accurate outline.

Step 2 – Measure Length

Using a straight edge ruler, draw a straight line from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe on each tracing. Measure the line in centimetres and write the measurement directly beside it.

Record:

Left Length: ______ cm

Right Length: ______ cm

Step 3 – Measure Width

Using a straight edge ruler, draw a straight line across the widest part of each traced foot. Measure the line in centimetres and write the measurement directly beside it.

Record:

Left Width: ______ cm

Right Width: ______ cm

Step 4 – Measure Foot Circumference

Using a flexible measuring tape, wrap it around the ball of your foot, just behind your toes. The tape should be snug but not tight.

Record:

Left Circumference: ______ cm

Right Circumference: ______ cm

Step 5 – Send Us

Please send us:

A clear photo or scan of both foot tracings with your length and width measurements visible.

Your six measurements:

Left Length

Right Length

Left Width

Right Width

Left Circumference

Right Circumference

You can send your measurements by:
